WILTON - The Maine Department of Transportation is replacing the Bridges Bridge in Wilton. The bridge carries traffic over Wilson Stream on Pond Road. The current structure was installed in 1928 and is past its useful life. The new bridge will be 75 feet long and 24-feet-wide, four feet wider than the current bridge. Work will begin Monday, March 17th and is anticipated to be completed in November. Signs will direct drivers to a detour route utilizing Routes 156 and 2. The contractor on this project is CPM Constructors of Freeport. The contract amount is approximately $1.8 million.
