America’s deepening political polarization makes it increasingly challenging for journalists to build trust and foster understanding. Poynter’s new Beat Academy: Polarized America (2025) ([link removed]) webinar series is here to help.

Happening on Feb. 20 and 27, these 75-minute sessions will provide strategies to break through information silos, identify reporting habits that fuel polarization and cover Christian Nationalism with insight and balance.
For just $15 ([link removed]) , you’ll gain practical advice from experienced journalists and researchers on how to cut through division, report with clarity and depth and encourage meaningful dialogue that includes diverse perspectives.

Watching these webinars grants you access to apply for an expenses-paid, in-person workshop (April 23-24) in the Great Lakes region. Participants in the workshop can also apply for one of eight reporting grants of up to $6,500 to support impactful storytelling on these critical topics.

For editors and producers, this program provides high-level guidance on coverage strategies to help your newsroom report with greater nuance and reach broader audiences.
Read on to learn more about this training and explore additional Poynter opportunities.
