John,
It’s obvious: unelected billionaire Elon Musk is slashing the federal government to the bone, undermining its ability to function properly, and intending to privatize much of it through corporate outsourcing to companies like his.
Musk and DOGE have already laid off thousands of federal workers and civil servants, including hundreds of FAA air traffic controllers mere weeks after the worst U.S. commercial airplane crash in decades – only to suggest bringing in SpaceX to “fix” the problem they created.
SpaceX has already received $20 BILLION in federal government contracts; the startup company’s valuation increased from $210 billion to $350 billion in a single month after Donald Trump was elected. Tesla also saw its stock rise recently after the State Department announced it may drop $400 million on armored electric vehicles from the Musk-owned company.
Trump is letting Musk dismantle our government to enrich himself and other billionaires like him, but Congress can do something about it.
We need leaders in Washington to step up and fight harder to save our democracy from Musk and Trump’s corporate coup. Thanks for raising your voice with us.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
