Washington Dems Declare War on... Washington?

Apparently, fixing Washington state’s skyrocketing crime, gas prices, and homelessness crisis was just too boring for state Democrats—so now, they want to erase George Washington from the state flag. House Bill 1938 would create a committee to redesign the flag into something that “better reflects diversity,” because, you know, honoring the nation’s first president is just too passé. The bill complains that Washington’s portrait is too complex, has too many colors, and isn’t relevant enough to the state’s identity—because clearly, being the namesake of both the state and the capital of the country isn’t enough historical connection.

Instead of addressing real issues, Democrats want to spend years forming a committee of bureaucrats, designers, and “cultural leaders” to dream up a politically correct flag that will finally make Washingtonians feel… what, proud to be taxed into oblivion? Meanwhile, Republicans are calling this out for the absurd distraction it is, with GOP Rep. Brian Burnett pointing out that maybe—just maybe—fixing Washington’s crime, homelessness, and cost-of-living crises should take priority. But sure, let’s burn time and taxpayer dollars on a flag redesign no one asked for. Read more at Fox News.

Washington Dems to Bounty Hunters: Hands Off Illegal Immigrants!

While Washington state faces rising crime, Democrats are laser-focused on stopping bounty hunters from cooperating with ICE. Senate Bill 5714, sponsored by Democrat Sen. Yasmin Trudeau, would punish bail bond agents who assist in deporting undocumented immigrants—because apparently, enforcing immigration law is just too extreme. The bill classifies civil immigration enforcement as “unprofessional conduct,” meaning any bounty hunter who dares help federal authorities could lose their license. This all stems from a single unverified report of a bondsman claiming to work with ICE—who, it turns out, wasn’t even licensed. But never letting facts get in the way, Democrats rushed to ensure Washington remains a sanctuary for illegal immigrants. Meanwhile, states like Mississippi and Missouri are considering ways to empower bounty hunters to help enforce immigration laws, but Washington Dems have drawn their “line in the sand”—not for law and order, but for shielding illegal immigrants. Maybe one day, they’ll get around to tackling Washington’s actual crime problem. Read more at MyNorthwest.com.

Oregon’s Conservative Escape Plan: Greater Idaho or Bust!

Tired of being ruled by Portland’s leftist policies, Eastern Oregon conservatives are making another push to join Idaho—because why should they keep suffering under Salem’s nonsense? The Greater Idaho movement just got a boost with HB 3844, which would create a task force to study how to shift the state border, giving Eastern Oregon a government that actually represents its values. Unlike Democrats who tell unhappy residents to “just move,” these folks want to take their homes, farms, and businesses with them—without being chained to Oregon’s failing policies. Voters in over a dozen counties have already backed the idea, proving it’s not just a fringe dream. With Trump back in office, the movement’s leaders are hoping for federal support to finally make it happen. Meanwhile, Washington’s conservatives have a similar goal—to break off from Seattle’s leftist grip and form their own state—but that’s an even tougher sell. Either way, rural voters in both states are done being political hostages to progressive urban elites. If Democrats are so confident in their policies, they shouldn’t be so afraid of letting people go. Read more at MyNorthwest.com.

Spokane’s Homeless Crisis: Protestors Demand Action While Politicians Dither

A determined group of Spokane residents braved the freezing cold at 5 a.m. yesterday to demand real solutions for the city’s homelessness crisis. Business owners, service providers, and residents marched through the snow from City Hall to the County Commissioners’ Office, passing people literally freezing on the streets. Spokane’s leadership has spent years talking in circles about solutions, but these advocates are done waiting—they want immediate action.

Organizer Barry Barfield and Spokane Business Association President Gavin Cooley are calling for a disaster-level response, because that’s exactly what this is. Every night, overdoses claim lives, frostbite leads to amputations, and shelters remain full while the city and county argue over jurisdiction. Despite political finger-pointing, the fact remains: Spokane’s most vulnerable residents are dying while leadership stalls. Protestors held signs declaring “SPOKANE IS IN CRISIS!!!” because, frankly, what else do you call a situation where people freeze to death outside government buildings? The march continued Tuesday, and organizers are urging more people to join—because if those in power won’t step up, the people will. Read more at Center Square.
