On the chopping block: The Department of Education.
You read that right, John. In alignment with Trump’s Project 2025, the administration is working to ELIMINATE the Department of Education.
First, Trump is directing the Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, to develop a plan to gut the department, telling her that he expects her to “put herself out of a job.” Then, he called on Congress to end the department.
This is just the latest attack on Trump’s efforts to dismantle our government and put the American people at risk. Among other critical functions, the department helps to bolster education for low-income students and children with disabilities. Now, Trump wants to strip that support away from states.
Meanwhile, Republicans in Ohio are proposing cuts to school funding. Where does it end?
Shontel Brown is proud to be elected as the Congresswoman for Ohio’s 11th District. She has spent the last decade serving the people of Ohio and building coalitions. As she enters her second full term in Congress, she will use that experience to continue the fight for affordable quality health care, jobs that pay fair wages, a strong public education system, and to preserve and protect our democracy for generations to come. Will you join her and be the change we need?
