Maura has been hitting the ground running in 2025 with a flurry of action to lower costs, improve our transportation system, invest in education, protect health care and reproductive freedom, and so much more.
To keep track of everything the Healey-Driscoll Administration has been getting done, we put together a list. ⬇️
Last Week
On Thursday, Maura continued her charge to lower housing costs, visiting Plymouth to announce $158 million for 14 new affordable housing developments benefiting seniors and families in 12 communities across Massachusetts.
In the wake of their historic plan to transform Massachusetts’ transportation infrastructure, Maura and Kim headed to the Brockton Area Transportation’s intermodal center to thank workers, view BAT buses, and greet riders.
Building on the fare free bus service they’ve already delivered to communities like Brockton, Maura’s plan proposes $110 million for Regional Transit Authorities like BAT, including $66 million for transit improvements, $30 million for fare free service and $10 million to facilitate interconnectivity between RTAs.
On Wednesday, the Massachusetts Department of Education released new data showing that Maura’s investments in early childcare have paid off, with Massachusetts adding over 8,700 new child care seats in the last year.
On Monday, Gov. Healey and First Lady Joanna Lydgate welcomed King Abdullah II of Jordan to Boston.
But that’s just the last week — so what else has Maura been up to in 2025? Here’s a list with just some of the progress she’s been making 👇

Massachusetts students received the highest numeric score of any state on all four assessments – fourth and eighth grade math and reading – for the first time since 2017 and continues to rank first in the nation overall.
* 1/22: Maura filed her new budget, proposing historic investments in crucial infrastructure and creating good jobs while specifically prioritizing lowering costs and continuing the progress that Maura and Kim have made on child care, college affordability, tax cuts, housing, veterans services and more — while maintaining a budget growth rate less than the rate of inflation.

* 1/8: She signed health care laws lowering costs and strengthening oversight, including capping prescription drug copays at $25, improve access to primary care and close regulatory gaps exploited by Steward Health Care.
* 1/7: Maura allocated $1.8 million to improve access to reproductive health care, and the following day adopted emergency regulations protecting reproductive health care, codifying the shield law and reaffirming protections for MA-licensed nurses providing these essential services.
Thanks for reading! It’s been a strong start to 2025, and Maura still has so much left to do. We know that she’s going to keep prioritizing lowering costs, protecting crucial rights, investing in education and infrastructure, and building a Massachusetts where everyone can succeed.
Thanks for being a part of this. We’re glad to have you on Team Massachusetts. Let’s keep building a stronger commonwealth together.
