"I'm Governor Gretchen Whitmer and I'm asking for your help today."
Hey – it’s Governor Gretchen Whitmer here with an important message for you.
I know the last month has been anything but ordinary. But let me tell you about something that you might have missed: I expanded reproductive freedom in Michigan.
I’m getting to work to tackle issues like this, and deliver for Michiganders. But this work can’t happen without input from supporters like you. So please, join my Reproductive Rights Focus Group for the DGA today. Your input now will help shape our strategy around this issue ahead of 38 critical governors’ races this year and in 2026. I’ll need 25,000 grassroots supporters – including you – to participate ahead of our deadline at midnight tonight. But if you want to know more, please keep reading.

John, here in Michigan, we’re not just talking about expanding reproductive freedom. We’re taking action.
Women deserve to make their own choices about their health care in partnership with trusted medical professionals and loved ones. That’s why I just signed 16 bills that will ensure women can more easily access critical reproductive health services moving forward.
While women previously had to jump through hoops just to access basic reproductive care, these bills will make the process a little easier – and more affordable, too.
And it’s not just me fighting to enshrine reproductive freedom into law. Democratic governors across the country have protected reproductive rights in their states by signing legislation to codify abortion rights into state law, ensuring medical professionals are safe from extradition, stockpiling abortion medication in the midst of Republican threats, and taking executive action to protect reproductive health and veto dangerous abortion bans.
Democratic governors are fighting like hell to protect abortion in our states.
But with a new president in the White House – officially completing the Republican trifecta in Washington – these fundamental freedoms are sure to come under threat in new and outrageous ways.
Here’s the thing, though: We can’t let this moment lead to apathy. If we’re going to win back our rights, we have to take action. The future of reproductive freedom depends on the work we do this year and in 2026 to elect pro-choice Democrats who will protect reproductive health care from far-right attacks.
But that starts with having the strategy that we need to tackle the issues that matter. I’m counting on the support of this team to propel us. Please, will you take a few minutes to respond to my Reproductive Rights Focus Group? With just hours to go until our deadline, we need you to act now.

With gratitude,
Gretchen Whitmer
Governor of Michigan
Gretchen Whitmer is the Governor of Michigan. She was reelected in 2022 by a double-digit margin because she’ll never stop fighting for working families. She has helped create thousands of good-paying jobs, signed the largest infrastructure plan in state history with funding to fix the damn roads, protected reproductive freedom, and made the largest education investment Michigan's ever seen.
Will you answer her call to action and begin her Reproductive Rights Focus Group for the DGA before midnight tonight, team?
