Team, In just under a month in office, Donald Trump’s actions have already wreaked havoc on New Mexicans and thrown our government into chaos. He tried to freeze all federal grant funding and rip billions of dollars away from communities across the country. He appointed unqualified nominees to serve in his cabinet who will do nothing more than pave the way for him to carry out his far-right agenda. And he’s letting billionaire Elon Musk ransack the federal agencies that many New Mexicans rely on, and that hold sensitive data like Social Security and bank account numbers. This is not what we voted for. We didn’t vote to let Elon dismantle and undermine federal agencies like the Department of Education, and no one voted to put Elon in charge of our personal data. Millions of Americans did vote for lower medical bills and cheaper eggs, but Trump hasn’t taken one meaningful step to lower costs for working families. In fact, he’s making those costs go up! Martin and his Senate Democratic colleagues are fighting hard to hold the Trump administration accountable and push back against Elon and Trump’s assault on our government.
