John — I hope this clears things up:
Republicans and their billionaire donors are using DEI in place of much more offensive terms to disparage people of color, women, and queer people.
While fires raged through Main Street and Palisades, Elon Musk said that “DEI means people die” about the Los Angeles Fire Department’s response to the California wildfires.
This is beyond wrong, and it's harming people from all walks of life.
When the most powerful people in our country talk down to marginalized groups, the most extreme among their supporters are emboldened to do the same — if not much worse.
Their dog whistling is a complete and utter distraction from the fact that Trump has no plans to provide any sensible leadership as our nation's president.
I'm urging Republicans to drop their obsession with DEI, stop scapegoating and attacking helpful programs that increase accessibility for everyone, and focus on pressing issues like disaster relief and lowering costs. Please, add your name in support if you're with me: [[link removed]]
