The governor has proposed a budget for 2025-2026, and if it’s passed by the state legislature, we’ll see investments to lower costs for hardworking Pennsylvanians and create good-paying jobs. 

But with anti-environment lawmakers in charge of the state Senate, it won’t be that easy. It’s going to take all of us speaking up to defend Governor Shapiro’s commonsense proposals that would ease the burden for everyday Pennsylvanians. 

Your message will make a difference. Please tell your lawmakers to strengthen investments in PA home repairs, clean energy production, public transit, and more.

In case you missed it, the governor laid out a budget that will fund:

• Clean energy investments, lower energy costs, and create good-paying jobs by implementing his Lightning Plan
• Home repair programs that boost energy efficiency and weatherization
• Two new state parks
• Ongoing capping of abandoned oil and gas wells that pollute our water and air
• Expanded public transit support to get cars off the road

And this is just the beginning of the process! Over the next few months, we plan to push the legislature to make sure they follow the Governor’s lead to ensure strong investments in our environment.

So here’s our plan moving forward: First, we need to fight off attacks from oil and gas lobbyists to cut these investments. Second, we need to push to increase investments wherever we can. 

Every lawmaker needs to feel pressure from their constituents right now. Tell YOUR legislators: support a state budget that lowers costs for Pennsylvanians and creates clean energy jobs!
