During the Virginia legislative session last month, I was proud to introduce a bill to protect the right to access contraception.
Enshrining this right into state law is more important than ever — especially as Donald Trump and his Supreme Court prepare to “revisit” the 1965 Supreme Court decision that gave Americans the right to access contraception. We have seen what these Justices did with Roe v. Wade and the disastrous fallout of the Dobbs decision.
Trump made it clear during his campaign: The right to access contraception is on the chopping block.
Throughout his tenure, Gov. Youngkin has stood in our way — but we need to send him a message that the people of our Commonwealth deserve protections for this fundamental right.
