Last month, the legislative session in Virginia ended, and we are thrilled that our constitutional amendment establishing reproductive freedom as a fundamental right passed both the House and Senate. But that was only the first step:
This November, every seat in the VA House of Delegates will be on the ballot. We must fight to protect our pro-choice majority in the House.
Here’s the deal: If pro-choice leadership remains in control, the General Assembly will vote once again on the Senate and House constitutional amendment language. If they pass a second time, the amendment will be on the ballot in 2026 without needing the approval of our governor, regardless of who it is.
