Back in January, we were making plans to open field offices and host organizing events to hear from supporters about the issues that matter most to their everyday lives.

By the end of March, we had to cancel all of our in-person events and move our entire campaign online for the foreseeable future. This is a new kind of environment, and it's one we never could have predicted. So we thought you deserved an explanation on exactly where your grassroots dollars go when you donate to emails just like this one.

First, we're investing heavily in bringing in as many people into this movement as possible. Traditional door-to-door organizing once acted as an entry-point to the campaign, but now online organizing has become more important than ever. So, we're investing in new tools that will make it easier to meet folks where they're at and strategizing on how to use digital tools we already know work in new, innovative ways.

Next, we need to continue to spread the message about the incredible work Cory has done during his time in the Senate. That means even more ads — but we're going up against the GOP's virtually unlimited war chest of dark money. They plan to outspend Democrats 2:1, which means they could dump corporate PAC and special-interest money into this election at any moment to try and defeat us.

Finally, we need to be prepared for anything. There are so many unknowns ahead of us. Whether it's a million-dollar ad dump from the GOP against Cory or the likely chance we will remain an entirely digital campaign through Election Day, we're going to need the resources to fight back and win.
