John, did you see Rachel Maddow on Thursday?
Our pressure campaign is working – and Americans from all walks of life are speaking out, forcing the President to already constrain Musk's power. [1]
And thanks to you, we're not done yet. Read on for more details on this campaign and what we have planned for the coming weeks:
John, after billionaire Jeff Bezos’s Washington Post refused to run our Fire Elon Musk ad with little to no explanation, we knew we needed another way to get this message out.
So with your help, that’s what we did. Starting this week, visitors to Times Square – the most popular tourist destination in the country – will see our billboard declaring it’s time to Fire Elon Musk.
This is the next step in our persistent advocacy, lobbying, and public messaging efforts to DEMAND a halt to Musk’s attacks on our Social Security, our national parks, and our democracy.
Simply put, this is a hostile takeover of our democracy – and we’re responding to it with the full fervor and concern it deserves. But we’re only able to do that because folks like you are stepping up like we’ve never seen before.
Since we launched this campaign, we collected 500,520 petition signatures opposing Musk’s involvement in government, drove 9,333 calls and 42,982 letters to the U.S. Senate, and received over 12,000 requests for Fire Elon Musk stickers through our campaign website.
Across the country, people are making it loud and clear: Elon Musk’s influence on our government must end. We won’t stand by in silence while our leaders enable his profit-driven defunding of our schools, our hospitals, and our communities.
And your pressure is working, John: Just this week, President Trump convened his Cabinet and made it clear that department secretaries are in charge of policy and staffing changes, not Elon Musk. [2]
Let’s be clear, Trump would only do this if he felt like Musk’s slash-and-burn campaign is dragging his popularity – the thing he cares about more than anything else – down with him. That means our campaign is getting results, and we need your help to keep turning up the heat!
So what’s next? Stay tuned – in the coming weeks expect to see more billboards, deliveries at in-district offices, and a full-court press in the media to make sure every American knows how Elon Musk is stealing from us.
It’s thanks to members like you that we’re able to take hard-hitting action when the moment calls for it, and I want to sincerely thank you for all you are doing to make this work possible.
Thanks for all you do,
