Hi Friend –

Fifteen years ago, a small but dedicated group of folks came together with a big idea. They were fed up that oil and gas industry lobbyists were literally writing the bills to oversee the new fracking industry. They wanted accountability from our lawmakers, political power for the health of our environment, and to put the legislature in the hands of people we can trust with our future.
That idea birthed Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania, where I had the honor of serving as Executive Director for its first 12 years.

Looking back, I thought that the political hurdles in our way couldn’t get much harder. I was mistaken.

Today, we’re at a crossroads. With our climate heating up faster than predicted and greedy oil and gas CEOs relentlessly pushing their profit agendas at the expense of our future, the stakes have truly never been higher.

Now is the time to double down. I invite you to join me in celebrating 15 years of fighting for Pennsylvania by making a gift of $5.00 to CVPA and helping them raise $1500 in the next 15 days: [link removed]

Every dollar you give fuels the fight against the forces that threaten our progress and a better future for our children and grandchildren.

CVPA is still guided by the same principles on which it was founded. Building power through elections. Advancing environmentally just policy change through lobbying. Holding officials accountable by mobilizing their constituents.

This theory of change has taken CVPA from an organization of one to a team of more than 13 staff members working statewide who have been racking up win after win.
* In 2018, CVPA flipped Chester County to pro-environment control through targeted investments and proved that local organizing has a lasting impact on the officials who govern.
* In 2022, CVPA helped elect Governor Josh Shapiro and put the State House back in the hands of pro-environment leaders, ending 14 years of anti-environment control of the state legislature.
* Between 2011 and 2024, CVPA nearly doubled the number of state lawmakers earning perfect scores on the Environmental Scorecard, proving that a continued presence in Harrisburg coupled with grassroots organizing is a winning combination.

As the person who once created budgets for this organization, I can tell you that all of this important and necessary work costs money. CVPA relies on the support of people like you to train community leaders, build relationships with hundreds of state officials, and mobilize residents to take action on issues impacting Pennsylvanians’ air, land, and water.

So I’m asking you today, please join me in becoming a member of CVPA: [link removed]

Thank you for standing with us and for being a crucial part of our history — and future. Now, together, let’s turn 15 years of progress into even greater wins for Pennsylvania and the planet.
