Yesterday was International Women's Day, and it was a moment
for us to reflect on how women are disproportionately impacted by
Alzheimer's disease and other dementia.
With almost two-thirds of Americans living with Alzheimer's
being women, they have long been at the center of the Alzheimer's
crisis. Research also shows that women take on more Alzheimer's
caregiving tasks than their male counterparts. It takes patience,
courage and love to care for a friend or family member living with
Alzheimer's or another dementia. However, we can't ignore the
substantial toll it takes on caregivers.
Over 11 million Americans provided unpaid care, dedicating
more than 18.4 billion hours, valued at nearly $350 billion, in 2023.
On top of the staggering financial costs, caregivers also pay an
emotional toll, as many experience depression and impaired health as a
result of the heavy burden they carry.
There is an urgent need for care and support services and
continued research necessary to lighten the load caregivers carry.
We're doing everything we can to support them and all those impacted
by this disease, but we need your help today. Our March 2X Match
Challenge is only around for a limited time, and you can make 2X the
impact with your very first gift to help provide quality care and
support while advancing critical research.

Before you make a gift, consider the people you love most.
Consider how their lives, and yours, would change with an Alzheimer's
diagnosis. Because the Alzheimer's crisis continues to escalate, it's
more critical than ever that we take action to support everyone
affected by this cruel disease. Now, consider the difference you can
make today when you take action with your first gift while it can be
