By impulsively ending aid to Ukraine this week, Donald Trump has sent a dangerous message to the world that America cannot be trusted to stand with its allies.

Last week, Trump forced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy out of the White House after a heated argument and then halted all military aid to Ukraine. His reckless decision plays right into Vladimir Putin’s hands — weakening Ukraine’s defenses and pressuring them to accept a so-called “peace” dictated by Russia after years of devastating war.

For decades, America has led the fight for democracy abroad and stood strong against tyranny. But if Congress doesn’t act now to clean up Trump’s mess, our legacy will be shattered. The U.S. provides critical military support to Ukraine’s war effort — air defense systems, advanced weaponry, and intelligence that help Ukraine hold the line against Russia’s brutal invasion. If we walk away now, it will embolden dictators and put our own security at risk.

That’s why we’re calling on Congress to act fast and immediately reverse Trump’s dangerous pause on military aid to Ukraine. We need to reaffirm America’s commitment to its allies — the world is watching.
