Friend,
The triple match challenge deadline has been extended until Sunday, May 31st. That gives you just 72 hours to make a donation that will triple in impact thanks to special matching funds.
Last week, Fidel Torres, 62 years old, died of coronavirus in a federal prison. He served 16 years of an 18-year marijuana sentence and was denied compassionate sentencing relief before he died of COVID-19 behind bars. No drug conviction should be a death sentence.
People in jails and prisons are disproportionately losing their lives to COVID-19. Many of those who have died were behind bars for drug offenses. Although some steps have been taken to release people as a public health measure, hundreds of thousands more are still at-risk.
Friend, it’s time to save lives and end the criminalization of drugs and the people who use them. Thank you for following our work, we appreciate it.
Please make a gift to the Drug Policy Alliance today before the match expires. Your gift will go three times as far.
