Friend -
Women’s History Month is an opportunity for all of us to reflect on women's long-underappreciated and often-forgotten contributions throughout history. Senate Democrats are proud to have an incredibly diverse, majority-women caucus. In the last decade, Washingtonians have made history by electing:

- Claudia Kauffman, the first Native American woman legislator in Washington
- Yasmin Trudeau, the first Muslim-American woman legislator in Washington
- Claire Wilson, the first out lesbian legislator in Washington
- And Manka Dhingra, the first Sikh legislator in the country
All of them are integral, indispensable members of our caucus who have led the charge on protecting reproductive freedom, funding education, expanding childcare access, and protecting vulnerable Washingtonians.
This month, we’re reflecting on the work we must continue to do so that Washington women can make history unencumbered by unequal burdens. We hope you’ll join us in recommitting to our work and celebrating the rich history of Washington women this month.
