Republicans are coming after Social Security—again. Their latest scheme? Cut benefits to fund Trump’s massive tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy.

Trump’s 2017 tax cuts—one of the biggest giveaways to billionaires in history—are set to expire. Instead of letting them end as planned, the GOP wants to extend them permanently. And to make the numbers work, they’re zeroing in on Social Security cuts as a way to foot the bill.

It’s the same scam every time. Republicans blow up the deficit for the rich, then claim we “can’t afford” Social Security and Medicare. Millions of Americans stand to lose benefits, and corporate media won’t sound the alarm. But we are.
