It’s abundantly clear that he’s doing things like declaring English the official language of the United States and renaming the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America because he thinks he can distract us from his deeply sinister agenda.
During the election, Trump and the MAGA Republicans ran on the promise of lowering costs for Americans – but they’re doing the exact opposite, imposing devastating and costly tariffs and launching a trade war with our closest allies.
Trump is letting unelected billionaires like Elon Musk run roughshod over our federal government, causing countless workers to lose their jobs and putting vital funding for everything from cancer research to our national parks in jeopardy.
The Republicans understand that every minute we spend “looking the other way” and arguing about the real name of the Gulf of Mexico is another minute they can fleece working people and loot our federal government on behalf of billionaires.
Trump wants us outraged – and we should be. But he also wants us distracted and outraged about the wrong things. That’s how he gets away with the worst sh*t.
