[Your campaign brief for March 8, 2025]([link removed])
John-
This week, President Trump delivered his first joint address to Congress since the election. President Trump laid out his priorities and dubbed his agenda the “common sense revolution,” which is the best way to describe these past six weeks. Meanwhile, I offered my analysis on the fallout of the White House meeting with Ukrainian president Volodomyr Zelensky and urged him to return to the table and accept the strong deal outlined by President Trump.
As always, thank you for your support. I am gearing up for re-election, and my March 2026 primary is just one year away. I need to stockpile resources now for a real fight. I have several primary opponents already announced against me, and Democrats will undoubtedly try to [meddle in my election like they have elsewhere across the country]([link removed]) to get a weak candidate they can beat in the general election. If I am going to win, I need your support. Please, donate anything you can to my campaign today as we gear up for this fight:

Now, here's your brief.
THE COMMON SENSE REVOLUTION
President Trump delivered the first joint address to Congress of his second term this past week. This was the third address like this I’ve witnessed from Trump since being sworn into Congress in 2019, and I thought it was his best one yet.
President Trump described his agenda in the first weeks of this administration as the “common sense revolution.” I think that is the perfect way to describe his second term.
Just look at the highlights of the administration’s accomplishments since January 20 and you will agree:
- Keeping men out of women’s sports
- Reining in the waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer dollars
- Ending federal funding for the mutilation of children through transgender surgeries
- Unwinding racist DEI programs within our federal government and in the private sector
- Taking executive action to secure our border and deport illegal immigrants
- Combating the Mexican drug cartels with the full force of the American government
- Ending the Biden administration's war on oil and gas production
I could go on, and on, and on, but you get the point. The Trump administration has been so successful and popular because they are focusing on the most basic issues that Americans agree with.
Like President Trump said: America is back.
MY REACTION TO THE TRUMP AND ZELENSKY WHITE HOUSE MEETING
[WATCH MY REACTION HERE]([link removed])
During President Trump’s address, he read a statement from Ukrainian president Volodomyr Zelensky that came in the aftermath of the Oval Office meeting last Friday. I encourage you to read it in full: [link removed]
The context of this about-face from Zelensky is of course the contentious Oval Office meeting between Zelensky, President Trump, and Vice President JD Vance last week. There is no doubt that Zelensky was at fault for the way that meeting devolved. Whoever is advising Zelensky should have told him this simple piece of advice: if you are a country in a dire situation with no path to peace without American support, do not come into the Oval Office and argue with the President and Vice President of the United States in public.
Moreover, Zelensky initially torpedoed a mineral rights deal that effectively amounted to a security guarantee for Ukraine. If our economic interests are tied to Ukraine, then there is more of an incentive for us to protect Ukraine’s sovereignty. It’s that simple.
I held a virtual town hall with constituents in Texas this week and was asked for my full analysis on the meeting, which you can watch in the video above. Ultimately, I am pleased to see that Zelensky at least recognizes that he needs President Trump’s support if he wants what is best for his country. Now it’s time for him to come back to the table and sign the good deal America has laid out for Ukraine.
