Friend,
Today is International Women’s Day, and I want to take the opportunity to celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in Colorado and across the country. As the first Democratic woman elected as Colorado’s Secretary of State, I know firsthand the power of breaking barriers—and the responsibility that comes with it.
While women have made incredible strides, it is clear that our rights are under attack. That’s why I’m so proud that last year, Colorado voters took a stand and voted to protect abortion rights, ensuring that our state remains a safe haven for women seeking reproductive care.
No politician should ever come between a woman and her health care decisions. I will always fight to keep Colorado a place where women are free to make our own choices about our futures.
Women across the nation still face challenges, like the lack of guaranteed paid maternity leave and a persistent gender pay gap that holds too many back. We must continue working toward policies that support working women, ensure equal pay for equal work, and make it easier for families to thrive. Because when we invest in women, we invest in a stronger, more prosperous future for everyone.
On this day of celebration, let’s also recommit ourselves to the fight ahead—because when women lead, when women’s voices are heard, and when women’s rights are protected, we all win.
Thank you,
Jena Griswold
