Today is International Women’s Day and March is Women’s History Month, a
time to celebrate and honor the social, economic, cultural, and political
achievements of women all over the world.

This observance feels all the more important this year, as women across
the United States face growing threats to their civil rights and
reproductive freedom from the Trump administration and far-right
extremists in state legislatures.

After the federal right to abortion was overturned by the Supreme Court
with help from Trump’s appointed justices, Republicans introduced abortion
restrictions in countless red states, leaving one in three women of
reproductive age living in a state with an abortion ban.

Last month, a Missouri Republican in Congress introduced legislation
aiming to ban abortion nationwide. And just two days ago, Trump’s Justice
Department indicated it’s dropping a Biden-era lawsuit against Idaho’s
total abortion ban.

It’s more than just reproductive freedom that’s at risk. Republicans in
Congress are also pushing the SAVE Act to create more restrictions on
voting, especially for women. If passed, this bill could prevent as many
as 69 million married women who took their partners’ last names from
voting if their new last name does not match what’s on their birth
certificate.

While these are frightening times with multiple threats to roll back the
progress we’ve made when it comes to women’s civil rights, Rob is fighting
back.

The Attorney General, who has championed women’s rights and reproductive
justice throughout his years of public service, pledged to protect
reproductive rights after Trump won the White House. He’s making good on
that promise by:

* Sponsoring two bills in the state legislature to protect abortion and
other reproductive healthcare access in California;
* Continuing his lawsuit against a California hospital for illegally
denying a patient an emergency abortion last year;
* Securing a legal victory defending California’s Abortion Accessibility
Act, which requires California-licensed health care service plans and
certain insurance policies to cover abortion services without a
co-payment, deductible, or any type of cost-sharing requirement;
* Opposing Trump’s move to pardon anti-abortion extremists who
threatened, harassed, and harmed abortion patients, providers, and
clinics, and limit enforcement of federal laws protecting those
seeking abortion care from harassment.

fighting for the rights of every woman in California and across the
country. If he has your support, will you consider chipping in
