Today is International Women’s Day, a day that brings attention to how far we have left to go in the fight against gender inequality. 

Sadly – especially since Trump took office again – the United States has been going backwards in our commitment to women’s rights. 

Trump and his far-right SCOTUS appointments were instrumental in overturning Roe v. Wade and leading to severe abortion restrictions all across the country. These abortion bans have had devastating (and deadly) consequences for American women. 

And Trump’s attacks on reproductive rights are global too, John. He reinstated the “global gag rule” which cuts American aid to any organization that provides – or even promotes – abortion services. This dangerous policy has led to the closure of valuable healthcare clinics and prevented organizations from providing lifesaving sexual and reproductive health services and information. 

Plus, his ridiculous attempt to gut USAID has defunded important women’s empowerment programs that were giving women and girls living in poverty the economic and social opportunities they deserve!

America should be at the forefront of gender justice and a model to other nations. Instead, we’re gutting women’s rights at home and abroad. 

John, we need leaders who are going to stand up for women’s rights. 

Democrats are fighting hard against the Trump administration’s efforts to destroy access to reproductive healthcare and trying to limit the damage he causes to women’s equality around the world. 

Can you please make a gift in honor of International Women’s Day so we can invest in Democrats who will be advocates for gender justice?
