Trump’s address to the Joint Session of Congress was a slap in the face to the American people.

Not only was his speech filled with lies, but it also revealed his clear plan: an authoritarian takeover. Our children do deserve a country ruled by a dictator.

Fight Against Authoritarianism

Congressional Republicans are going to extremes to prove their cult-like allegiance to Trump. From cutting billions of dollars from Medicaid — which provides healthcare to 50% of American children — to introducing legislation that would make Trump’s birthday a federal holiday to trying to amend the Constitution to allow him a third term, Republican lawmakers are proving their loyalties lie with Trump and not the American people.

We can’t ignore their actions as petty politics. If Trump and Republicans have their way, there will not be an American democracy for our children to participate in the future.
