Women and children make up the majority of patients treated by Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). In crisis zones—amidst war, natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and more—women face distinctive health risks. They are disproportionately impacted by sexual and gender-based violence, diseases like HIV/AIDS, and other health threats.
Thanks to the support of our donor community, MSF is providing women and girls with the specialized care they need, often in the face of displacement, earthquakes or flooding, and other emergencies.
