Notes from the Office of Speaker Mike Johnson Hello, friends! Thank you for subscribing to the Office of Speaker Johnson's newsletter highlighting what's happening on Capitol Hill and in Louisiana's 4th Congressional District. | On Tuesday night, President Trump delivered his historic Joint Address to Congress. The President outlined his optimistic vision for America and accomplishments since his triumphant return to the White House. Speaker Johnson applauded President Trump: "He showcased the historic, record-setting achievements of his first weeks in office and the immediate, real-life, positive impacts of the America First agenda." Click the photo for Speaker Johnson's full statement. | During the President's speech, Democrats exhibited shameful, embarrassing behavior, ignoring those who lost their lives to heinous acts of terrorism and violence. They refused to clap for the families of Jocelyn Nungaray, Laken Riley, Corey Comperatore, or the capture of the terrorist mastermind behind the Abbey Gate attack in Afghanistan. Democratic Rep. Al Green was repeatedly asked to sit down and follow the House rules, leaving Speaker Johnson no choice but to remove him from the House Chamber. On Thursday, both Republicans and Democrats voted to censure Rep. Al Green. | On Tuesday evening, Speaker Johnson had the honor of hosting a notable group of guests for President Trump's Joint Address. Among others, guests included Border Czar Tom Homan, conservative media personalities Matt Walsh and Ben Shapiro, and Louisiana's Olivia Hayes, whose husband was tragically killed by a drunk-driving illegal alien. Also present was Noa Argamani, who was held hostage by Hamas for 250 days. Speaker Johnson had the privilege of hosting former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and his wife, Callista. In light of the Trump Administration's recent approval of a new LNG export terminal in Louisiana, Ben Dell, Chairman of Commonwealth LNG, also joined Speaker Johnson on Capitol Hill to attend the address. | On Thursday, Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and Secretary of Energy Chris Wright joined Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry in South Louisiana for the announcement of Venture Global's $18 billion LNG export terminal expansion. President Trump has only just begun unleashing American energy, and Louisiana is at the forefront of restoring energy dominance. | Speaker Johnson joined multiple radio and TV shows throughout the week to discuss President Trump's Joint Address to Congress, Democrats' embarrassing antics, and how House Republicans are working with the President to implement the America First agenda.
