Today is International Women’s Day, a day for the global community to celebrate changemakers, acknowledge our collective accomplishments, and galvanize our allies to continue driving change in the months and years ahead.
 

As anti-rights movements gain momentum around the world, creating hostile environments and threatening hard won rights, you might feel anxious about the impact on yourself, your loved ones, and your community. We want to reassure you that regardless of the changing political landscape and whatever else may come our way, Equality Now will continue to support women: then, now, and always. We have over 30 years of experience working in challenging contexts, driving progress even in the face of fierce opposition. Our tested and proven ability to mobilize women’s collective power to hold the line and protect women’s rights gives us hope for the future. 

YOU have a role to play in creating a better world for women and girls. Our global staff and network of allies are skilled and determined, but we can’t do it alone. Solidarity is key – it gives us strength, resilience, protection, and greater resolve, and it is needed now more than ever. This past year, we’ve secured monumental wins like bans on child marriage in Colombia and Virginia, Washington, and New Hampshire in the United States; the launch of a new coalition to address sexual violence in South Asia; the development of a new model law on technology-facilitated gender-based violence; and more. I know that together we can do even more for women and girls in 2025 and beyond.
