Fellow Conservative,

During his joint address to Congress, President Donald Trump outlined his vision for the United States. He declared that "the American Dream is unstoppable" and that the nation is on the verge of an unprecedented comeback.

This message was received with widespread support. 76% of viewers approved of the President’s remarks, and 63% said that he spent a lot of time on the issues that they cared about. Only 9% said he spent no time on the issues that mattered to them.

But that comeback is not yet complete. Here is a good place to start:

Simply put, Congress should pass a clean continuing resolution (CR), meaning extending current funding levels without any change, by the funding deadline of March 14th, to keep the government open. Here’s why: the President is on a roll.

In just 47 days, illegal border crossings have dropped by 94%, dangerous criminals are being deported, and radical gender ideology is being curtailed in schools.

Efforts to protect women in sports, eliminate DEI from the federal government, and expose government corruption are in full swing. Trillions of dollars are being reinvested into the economy, and billions in fraudulent spending have been uncovered.

However, despite these successes, Democrats are beating the drum calling for a shut down in an attempt to throw a wrench into the administration’s work.

Passing a CR doesn’t mean giving up on fiscal responsibility either. Quite the opposite. President Trump’s DOGE team estimates that it has already saved taxpayers $105 billion, the equivalent of $652.17 per taxpayer. Passing a clean CR and stopping the Democrats from shutting down the government will keep DOGE running uninterrupted.

It will also buy critical time for Congress to continue working on its budget resolution which is expected to contain a basket of conservative wins via the reconciliation process including cutting spending, extending the 2017 Trump tax cuts, resources to secure the border, and unleashing domestic energy production.

Passing a clean CR is the best fiscal and political solution. It allows the executive branch to continue their work uninterrupted, and sets the stage for Congress to pass a reconciliation bill this spring that will reflect President Trump’s agenda and also reassert Congress as the primary lawmaking branch of the government as it was designed to be.

If you have been following our blog you know that we are nearing the end of confirming all the Executive Department heads and Cabinet-level positions.

The only ones remaining are:

  • Ambassador to the United Nations - Rep. Elise Stefanik
  • Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers - Stephen Miran
  • Director of the Office of Science Technology Policy - Michael Kratsios

The Senate has worked relatively quickly to confirm many of President Trump’s Cabinet-level nominees, but there are still many more nominees that lie ahead. Some of these include Jay Bhattacharya for Director of the National Institutes of Health and Dan Bishop for the Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

Both men will lead with the interests of the American people in mind. They will bring transparency and reform to wasteful and misdirected priorities. We look forward to their eventual confirmation.

Wyoming

Wyoming is the latest state to improve election integrity by banning foreign funding from being used to influence state elections.

By banning foreign influence in ballot issue campaigns, it makes sure that only Wyomingites’ voices are heard in Wyoming elections. Wyoming is the first state to enact a ban on foreign funding of ballot measures this year! Ohio also passed a ban in 2024.

Iowa

The Hawkeye State joined the growing number of states that have enacted legislation (SF 418) to protect women and girls by establishing clear definitions of male and female. Establishing legal definitions that match the biological truth about the distinctions between men and women protects the safety and privacy of restrooms, locker and dorm rooms, prisons, and shelters for women, especially those who have been victims of sexual assault. It also protects the legal right of girls and women to sex-separate sports and scholarships.
