It is no exaggeration to say that women, specifically our rights and freedoms, are under attack. From our state government, to Washington D.C., to leaders around the world; those in power today are trying to roll back centuries of progress. A world where women have fair and equal opportunities throughout our lives is only possible through real representation.
Our right to access abortion care, to make our own choices about our bodies and futures, is an intrinsic part of the fight for women’s rights. If we allow those in power to take away our healthcare, then they will be empowered to take away our access to education, our ability to work and earn an income, and more.
By standing together, we can overcome these challenges and reverse the tide of misogyny that wants to take over. I’m grateful for our community of strong women at Ruth’s List today, and every day.
