For three years, the UK has stood united with our European allies in defence of Ukraine - not just on the world stage but right here at home in London. Across our city people opened their doors to Ukrainian families. We have worked together to ensure our city offers a good life to those fleeing the brutality of Putin’s war machine. It is one of the many reasons I am deeply proud to be a Londoner. But President Donald Trump could undermine all of this. |
President Trump is pulling the rug out from underneath Ukraine. It has never been more important for the UK to lead the way in protecting Ukraine.
Trump’s decision to block the UK from sharing American intelligence with our Ukrainian allies is deeply dangerous. Our Defence Secretary needs to raise this urgently so that intelligence sharing can be restored, as well as the supply of US military aid. Anything less will result in more Ukrainian deaths at the hands of Putin. But we know that one way or another Europe has to step up - which is why the Liberal Democrats are calling for the Labour Government to immediately seize frozen Russian assets across Europe, which can be used to fund Ukraine’s resistance against Putin’s savage war. |
