Budget Hearings   

This week in Harrisburg, we’re holding the first rounds of budget hearings in the Pennsylvania House. Today, I asked Transportation Secretary Mike Carroll what impact a federal funding freeze or a federal budget expiration on March 14th would mean for PennDOT's budget. He remains confident that PennDOT will continue its operations across a few months, regardless of what happens on March 14th. However, the department would wait for firm obligations from the federal government regarding awards that have been promised, but not yet delivered.  If you have any questions, please reach out to my office!

Real ID Event

E-Waste Recycling Collection  

On Monday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Pennsylvania Resources Council will host an E-Waste Recycling Collection at Elmwood Park Zoo. Save the date now and drop off any of the accepted items, including computer monitors and printers, phones, cable boxes, laptops, video game consoles, and more! There is no recycling fee, however, registration for this event is required.

River of the Year Results 

The votes are in, and the Delaware River has been named Pennsylvania’s 2025 River of the Year! The Delaware received 2,962 votes as part of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Pennsylvania Organization for Waterways and Rivers public vote. In celebration of this honor, a River of the Year Paddle will be held in June.
