John,
MAGA Republicans in Congress reintroduced the SAVE Act in the House, and if passed, this dangerous bill would create significant barriers to voting–disproportionately affecting women, transgender people, people of color, and people with disabilities.
The SAVE Act would require Americans to provide proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a passport, in person every time they register or update their voter registration. Millions of women who changed their last names after marriage, transgender people who updated their legal documents, and disabled people facing accessibility challenges could be denied the right to vote.
We’re not shocked that they would try to pull something like this. They simply don’t want us to vote so they can retain their power–but we won’t sit idly by!
At Emerge, we are dedicated to finding women leaders who are a part of the fabric of their communities and will safeguard our rights against these relentless attacks on our democracy. Now more than ever, we need strong leaders who will fight to make voting easier, not harder.
Your support today will help us recruit and train the next generation of Emerge women. Together, we can flip the seats needed to take back the House in 2026 and defend our most fundamental right to vote. If you’re with us, will you contribute anything you can today to help fuel our work?
