following up from last week:

Hi John,

We now have a new Chair of the DNC. That’s why last week we sent around a survey asking for input from our members on the future of our party. And what we learned is super interesting

Firstly, we asked how folks are feeling about Donald Trump’s Presidency so far. No surprise, his approval rating with California Democrats is rock bottom — only 4% of respondents are neutral or approve of his administration.

We need to keep getting our message out so the general population understands our deep concerns with how he’s ignoring the needs of working Americans to focus on grievances and abuses of power.

We also asked in our survey what our members see as the top priority for the DNC. People care about numerous issues, but 83.5% of responses say that our top priority is defending the Constitution in the face of Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s assault on our democracy.

Finally, we wanted to get input on political tactics. We asked what tactics should be the top priority of the DNC. 33% thought the DNC should spend most time responding to Donald Trump, but 27% also said that a messaging revamp was needed. Investments in organizing and activating influencers and podcasters also got a large chunk of support too.

In reality, the DNC and Democratic Parties around the country probably need to do all of these things! And we are so grateful you are here to help us do it.

Thank you so much to everyone who took part in our survey! This was super interesting to read, and was very valuable to our full team.

If you’re ready to start funding our work that will reshape the Democratic Party in California, please chip in now. We need you in this fight!
