GLAAD Members are leading the way to LGBTQ equality. You should join us.

Friend, in case you missed Clyde's email, I hope you decide to become a 2025 GLAAD Member today. We're in a critical moment where quashing anti-LGBTQ hate is the only way to realize a better and safer future for our community. In order to do that, we need you to join us.

2025 marks our 40th year of driving progress through media advocacy. For the LGBTQ community, we're the only organization doing this work. Not only are we on the ground pushing for and driving change, we're also researching and reporting on representation, stigma, and hate in the media.

So believe us when we say: The media we consume shapes not just our perspectives but our actions. This rise in hate and violence against the LGBTQ community coincides with an increase in misinformation and a decrease in LGBTQ representation.

That's why a key part of our 2025 Action Plan is to reframe the picture being painted of our community by working with leaders in film, television, advertising, gaming, and more to increase authentic representation of LGBTQ people year over year.

Please become a 2025 GLAAD Member and learn more about our work going forward through our member-exclusive Action Plan.

Thank you,

Kim Abuelhaj

Dear Friend,

This week at the 67th GRAMMY Awards, GLAAD made sure LGBTQ voices were heard on music's biggest night, standing with us against misinformation and relentless political attacks. We've done the same across major news outlets, sports organizations like the NFL, and other influential spaces — ensuring that those with the biggest platforms champion LGBTQ rights rather than erase them.

This work is about more than visibility, it's about impact. But we can't shift culture on our own.

As GLAAD's new head of Development, it is my job to ensure our dreams for the future have a viable foundation in the present. And right now, the progress we have built over decades is under attack.

For the past several years, a small but well-funded group has pushed out countless false stories about the LGBTQ community, especially transgender people. These stories, plus hundreds of anti-LGBTQ legislative bills, are fueling increased violence against LGBTQ people, including bullying, targeting of Pride events, bomb and mass shooting threats, and more.

Now, the new administration is creating more chaos, stripping away our rights in an attempt to legislate us out of existence… The task at hand is formidable.

But with 40 years of experience and expertise in media advocacy, GLAAD is ready to respond — and I hope you're ready to join us as a 2025 GLAAD Member.

When you do, you'll receive full access to our exclusive 2025 Action Plan. And because I'm confident GLAAD is the vigilant media watchdog we need right now, I want to give you a glimpse into our plans for this year.

Realize a Better, Safer World

In the year ahead, our Social Media Safety Team will need your help to hold Facebook, Instagram, YouTube,
TikTok, and more accountable for the proliferation of hate speech and misinformation and the suppression of LGBTQ
content on these platforms.

In the coming weeks, we'll be sharing more of our 2025 Action Plan with friends like you, but for exclusive access to it now, please join us as a GLAAD Member today. GLAAD remains a leading force in ensuring LGBTQ voices are heard in mainstream conversations because we know that when LGBTQ people's stories are seen and heard, our shared humanity shines through. This is how we neutralize hate, stem the tide of fear, and turn despair into action.

Please take decisive action for LGBTQ equality right away by joining GLAAD in 2025. Our first 40 years have prepared us to respond to this uncertain moment — and our next chapter will be defined by your commitment to an equitable, joyful future for LGBTQ people everywhere.

Thank you,

Clyde (he/him)
