Dear
SPUC supporter,
Our petition calling for an urgent review of the poisonous pills by post policy has now reached nearly 12,000 signatures. It has also been picked up by the Christian Institute ([link removed]) and Christian Today ([link removed]) .

We want to present this petition soon, but I think we can do better! Can you help us push this to 15 or even 20 thousand signatures?

As a reminder, we are calling on the Health Secretary to commission an urgent review into the policy of abortion providers being allowed to send women abortion pills in the post, with only a telephone consultation.

We are particularly highlighting the case of Stuart Worby, a Norfolk man who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for using abortion pills to poison his pregnant girlfriend, causing the death of her baby at 15 weeks gestation. He crushed mifepristone into her drink and later administered misoprostol during a sexual assault. This caused her to miscarry.

This horrifying act was made possible through the "pills by post" scheme. Measures allowing women to self-induce medical abortions at home, without meeting with a medical professional in person, were first approved at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. It was clear from the beginning that this policy, pushed by abortion providers, would have terrible consequences.

We need to wake politicians up to those consequences. If you haven’t signed this petition already, please do so, and, crucially, share it with others.
