Watch Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, Keynote Speaker at Texas Faith & Family Day! |
Making a difference for faith and family in Texas with our Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, Texas legislators and many other faith & freedom-loving speakers for a day filled with encouraging, inspiring words, creating a sense of community with a shared purpose!
"We have to remind people that God is with us all the time. We are a Christ-centered senate. We have serious believers. Texas focuses on the Word of God...our number 1 lobbyist at the State Capitol is God.
One of the things we’re trying to do is make more movies in Texas. We had Woody Harrelson, Mathew McConaughey and Dennis Quaid for dinner…to work on a bill…we spent the first 15 minutes talking about Jesus." ~ Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick Watch the entire video from TX Faith & Family Day here.

Senate Considers Prayer & 10 Commandments in Schools! |
Coach Joe Kennedy Speaks Out in Favor of SB 11, Protecting the Freedom to Pray Bill, also know as the Coach Kennedy Bill! Radical Leftists have been attacking the 10 Commandments Bill since last summer, even before the bill was filed! Opposition to any Bible reference in the classroom is loud!
Last week the Senate Committee on K-16 Education heard public testimony on bills that would allow for the display of the 10 Commandments in the classroom and for a designated time where students are allowed to pray and read the Bible. In addition to the Texas Values Action policy team testifying on this bill, Coach Joe Kennedy was also there to testify on our behalf.
Coach Kennedy was the coach who would pray at the 50-yard line and was fired for doing so. With the help of our friends at First Liberty Institute, he sued the school district and, not only won his case, but defeated the lemon law of 50 years, at the U. S. Supreme Court after a 7-year-long battle! |

The Texas Woman’s Privacy Act, HB 239, authored by Representative Valoree Swanson, has received massive bipartisan support from members of the Texas House of Representatives.
“I’m thrilled to announce that over HALF of the Texas House has co-authored this necessary and crucial piece of legislation. Our Texas women and girls deserve exclusive access to their private spaces and to feel safe in those areas." ~ Rep. Valoree Swanson Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values said:
“The members of the Texas House agree that it is common sense that men do not belong in women’s restrooms. It should be no surprise that standing with women is a bipartisan issue. It’s time for us Texas women to reclaim our rights to our spaces and make this clear in law”.

Texas' Bible Based Curriculum Facing Pushback from the "Left"! |
Texas Values was mentioned in a recent Newsradio 740 KTRH article on new Bible based curriculum (The Bluebonnet Curriculum) which was approved in November of last year.
Some Texas school districts have begun implementing the new Bluebonnet Curriculum, which continues to face pushback from the "Left" because it features references to the Bible. Supporters of the curriculum say students need to learn about basic biblical principles.
Jonathan Saenz, President of Texas Values, pointed out that biblical principles played a key role in the founding of both the United States and Texas, and are still relevant today. He said, "The good Samaritan, the golden rule, these are things that people want to be hostile to because they don't want any mention of the Bible or Christianity."
The Bluebonnet Curriculum was already approved by the Texas State Board of Education, and multiple school districts across the state, including several in both the San Antonio and Houston areas, have already begun to adopt it, though some have opted out. |

Texas Senate Revives Library Cuts for Hosting Drag Story Times |
The Senate Committee on State Affairs held a hearing recently to consider SB 18, introduced by Republican Sen. Bryan Hughes. The proposal’s wording closely mirrors a similar piece of legislation he brought forward during the 2023 session that failed to pass.
Every Republican senator has signed on now as a co-author of SB 18, raising the chances that it will once again gain approval and move quickly through the GOP-controlled chamber. However, just as it did two years ago, the legislation is likely to draw loud opposition among Democratic lawmakers as well as LGBTQ+ advocates in the state.
“It is exposing kids to hyper-sexualization at an early age, and with devastating results.” - Jonathan Covey, Policy Director for Texas Values, said about drag queen story hours featured in Yahoo News. |

SB 810 Protects Public School Employees from Having to use Pronouns Inconsistent with Biological Sex |
Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values, testified in favor of SB 810 and is quoted as saying: “Teachers should not be fired for restating the truth and restating reality. Most importantly, the student should not be running the schoolhouse. Allowing teachers to be fired because of students’ personal preferences … creates a learning environment of disrespect and chaos.” |

Special Guest Les Bernal, National Director, Stop Predatory Gambling & Host Jonathan Saenz, President & Attorney for Texas Values discuss how we all pay for the suffering, and the human misery that gambling causes. |
"Gambling is what we advertise to the American people more than anything else. And what we incentivize the American people, shapes our character. There’s a massive lobbying campaign by one of the most powerful gambling companies in the world….they want to open a massive casino in Texas.
More than 200 lobbyists registered to lobby for the gambling industry for the Texas legislature in this session. That’s why Texas Values and your members are so important…your members have the power to stop this if they get involved and stand up to those 200 lobbyists.
Predatory gambling is when these powerful gambling corporations partner with state government to openly exploit and defraud citizens and communities." ~ Les Bernal
