Hello John,

At DC Jobs with Justice we believe one job should be enough!

American Airlines, Delta, and United made over $50 Billion in combined profits in just the past 5 years alone, but the workers who prepare and load food and beverages onto their planes are often left living in poverty and unable to afford healthcare.

UNITE HERE International Union invites allies to join airline food workers in their fight for a living wage and decent health insurance. The week of July 22, catering workers nationwide will mobilize to end poverty in the airline industry, anchored by this informational picket at Reagan National Airport.

The July 23rd informational picket will follow 11,000 catering workers nationwide taking strike authorization votes in June. Nationally, the majority of the food workers serving these airlines still earn less than $15 per hour – including some with 30, 40 and even 50 years of service. Meanwhile, family health insurance premiums are over $500 per month for these employees, leaving many with an impossible choice between their health and their bills.

UNITE HERE, which last year took 7,700 Marriott workers on strike, is committed to ending poverty in this industry once and for all.

Will you join the fight?
