Dear Friends,
Happy Friday! This week, I've been calling out Republicans' lies as they try to take away Americans' healthcare. I attended the Joint Address with Dr. Lisa Green, founder and CEO of a health center, to stand up for those who rely on Medicaid to survive. I also heard directly from everyday Americans who would be impacted by the Republican budget to cut $880 billion from Medicaid.
I will continue to defend the American people and protect healthcare against House Republicans.
Takeaways from the Joint Address

President Trump’s address to Congress was as expected — riddled with lies and without a real plan to improve the lives of Americans.
After a series of broken promises, including failing to lower grocery prices on day one, it is clear he only cares for the wealthy few. He touted anti-diversity rhetoric and doubled-down on letting Elon Musk run rampant in the government, who is firing thousands of federal employees.
Let's be clear: Elon Musk is the unelected bureaucrat who must go.
Medicaid Cuts Impact Real People
On Thursday, the Democratic Steering & Policy Committee organized a hearing to hear the testimonies of Americans who would lose healthcare — and possibly their children's lives — if Republicans push forward with $880 billion cuts to Medicaid.
I heard the story of Will, a child with special needs who depends on Medicaid for his health. Will and 37 million other children across America relied on Medicaid last year — nearly half of the children that make up our entire country.
House Republicans must stop jeopardizing their care.
Defending Everyday Americans on Ash Wednesday
On Ash Wednesday, I urged Congress to give up billionaires for lent.
It’s a shame that the Trump administration has instead resorted to stealing from vulnerable Americans through essential government programs to give the richest people tax cuts.
Everyday Americans deserve a more fair budget that prioritizes their needs over the top one percent.
