Letter from the Mayor

Dear Washingtonians,

This week, I hosted a tele-town hall to address the impact of federal job losses on workers and families in DC and across our region. We know that these job losses are creating significant challenges for many Washingtonians, and my message to impacted residents is that DC Government is going to do all that we can to help in your transition.

We are consolidating resources at fedsupport.dc.gov [ [link removed] ]. You can use this website to get information about enrolling in health care through DC Health Link, to learn more about Unemployment Insurance, to find mental health resources, and more.

On Friday, March 14, we are hosting a job fair [ [link removed] ] at the Kellogg Conference Center. Attendees will be able to learn about job opportunities, receive resume support and interview coaching, and get support setting up a LinkedIn profile.

Additionally, as we stay focused on growing our economy, we are also conducting a survey of the private sector to gather insights from businesses on job openings and workforce needs across the city. Survey responses will help us better understand employment trends, support local businesses, and connect job seekers with opportunities. You can take or share the private sector survey here [ [link removed] ].

If you were not able to join the town hall, you can watch it here [ [link removed] ] and read through the situational update here [ [link removed] ]. To those impacted: I am sorry you are going through this; thank you for your service to our nation; and, together, we will get to the other side.

Sincerely,

Muriel Bowserfacebook album
