John,
If you’ve been following the news coming out of the federal government, you know that the new administration seems hell-bent on causing chaos.
Whether it’s putting money back in your pockets, making sure you can feel safe on our streets and subways, or protecting your rights, I’m going to continue to stay laser-focused on helping you and your family get ahead here in the Empire State – no matter what happens in Washington.
Helping you and your family get ahead means standing up to bullies who go after New Yorkers. That’s why after Roe v. Wade was overturned, I signed legislation to protect doctors who deliver reproductive health care. When the State of Louisiana put that legislation to the test earlier this year, I stood firmly with New York doctors and patients, letting the nation know that the Empire State will always be a safe harbor for those in need of care and signing additional legislation to protect doctors and patients.

Forget what DOGE says: New York wants YOU! We have thousands of open positions in state government, and we just launched a campaign to spread the word! Because In New York, we don't turn our backs on hardworking public servants. We open our doors. Learn more at ny.gov/wewantyou <[link removed]>.

Helping everyday New Yorkers afford homes. Normal working people are getting outbid by private equity firms. Our budget fights these predatory companies by banning them from bidding on properties for their first 75 days on the market.

- I joined Planned Parenthood for their annual day of action to reaffirm our commitment to protecting reproductive freedom in New York state. <[link removed]>
New York Moments
The Cameras Are Staying On. Donald Trump called himself “the king” when he tried to override the will of New Yorkers and kill congestion pricing. We don’t listen to “kings” here.

We Want You! DOGE may say you’re fired, but NYC said you’re hired — and people took notice.

Making Subways Safer. There’s more work to do, but crime is down on New York City’s subway:
