This is a seat that no Democrat had held in nearly fifty years. I won in 2022 because people voted for the person, not the party. I’m proud to serve as a Democrat. We’re the party of working America, the party of freedoms and rights, the party working to preserve our democracy.

But I’ve never let my party do my thinking for me.
