Hey EnviroVoter,

Happy Friday from the EnviroVoters team! We're celebrating a major victory: the official announcement from the Government Accountability Office that protects California's Clean Air Act EPA Waiver from Congressional Review by House Republicans.

But we've got a lot more to share, so here's the EnviroVoters weekly roundup—to keep you informed as an environmental advocate, remind you that this is a winnable fight, and share things you can do right now to help.

Something to Celebrate:
Over the last month, California's Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB)—a state grantmaking agency—has awarded $37 million for habitat conservation and restoration projects in 14 California counties across more than 4,700 acres. Among other projects, this will fund the restoration of 1,300 acres of tidal marsh and 800 acres of enhanced pond habitat in Alameda County—part of the largest tidal wetland restoration effort on the West Coast.

This is one of just many conservation projects that are moving full steam ahead in 2025, including California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) Salmon and Steelhead Habitat Restoration Projects, permanent protection of the 101 Ranch in Lassen County and its 4,300 acres of the largest remaining mountain meadows, and the newly funded 3.3 acre River Park on the Santa Ana River in Anaheim.

Although we're seeing a lot about the anti-environment actions on the federal level, it's important to remember how much great work is being done statewide to preserve our natural landscapes and fight for climate progress. These steady steps forward make all the difference.

Something You Can Do:
This week, the EnviroVoters team watched President Trump's address to Congress so we could give you all the environmental updates. The conclusion? Trump is working hard to give big tax cuts to the Oil CEOs that donated to his campaign—which will make us all poorer, sicker, and less safe.

In his speech, Trump lied about clean energy, energy affordability, and environmental protections. He lied when he said that the Biden Administration "closed more than 100 power plants" — the number of total utility-scale power plants actually increased under the Biden Administration with the addition of 1,766 new renewable energy plants. And he lied about getting "toxins out of our environment" after spending the last two months undoing protections against toxic pollution and firing federal workers who run the agencies that keep us safe.

Trump is following the Project 2025 Agenda, outlined by MAGA loyalists, to roll back environmental progress and make his Corporate Polluter CEO friends even richer at the expense of ordinary Americans.

EnviroVoters has been ready for this, and we've been fighting back every step of the way. We're making some great progress, but the only way to do this is by doing it together.

Friend, will you join your community of EnviroVoters by pledging your support for our climate future?
