[link removed] [[link removed]] Hey John, it’s Chris Deluzio.
I’m a Rust Belt Democrat from swingy Western PA—and I’m here to tell you something that you may not hear from other folks: not all tariffs are bad.
Opposing all tariffs signals that you’re comfortable with exploited foreign workers making your stuff at the expense of American workers. I’m not and neither are most voters.
In fact, many of my constituents support smart tariffs, particularly ones that target China, and so do I.
But tariffs are effective only when used in a predictable and stable way and the Trump administration’s approach has been anything but.
His scattershot threats are unanchored to real industrial strategy, won't result in rebuilding manufacturing, and ultimately hurt American workers more than helping them.
I explain more about how we can effectively use tariffs to support working families here at home in my op-ed with the New York Times, which you can read by clicking here. [[link removed]]
Thanks,
Chris
