Hello,

The specialty burn unit at Valleywise Health in Arizona is prepared to treat severe burn injuries. The unit has successfully helped patients recover from plane crashes, structural fires, and infections with rare flesh-eating bacteria, to name a few. After these courageous recoveries, a group of medical professionals and eight burn survivors ventured to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. The youngest member of #TeamCourageRising, Isabella McCune, was just 12 years old at the time of the climb.

Following such accidents, many wouldn’t imagine making the long trek to Kilimanjaro. For these patients, 24/7 access to care gave them a new chance at life.
