President Trump's agenda is already putting our communities' safety at
risk:

* Last month, Senate Republicans confirmed Trump's FBI Director nominee,
Kash Patel. Patel refused to say that background checks are
constitutional, but he has committed to spreading a gun extremist
group's mission across America. Now, he's the head of the agency
responsible for managing our federal background check system.
* Just days later, Trump tapped Patel to lead the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), the lead federal agency responsible for
enforcing the gun laws that keep us safe.
* Trump's pick for Deputy Director of the FBI is just as concerning. He
chose Dan Bongino—a former NRATV host, Fox News contributor, and
frequent InfoWars guest who has referred to FBI agents as "thugs" and
called for the bureau's elimination.

Trump knows exactly what he's doing by putting gun extremists who won't
enforce gun laws in charge of the agencies responsible for enforcing our
gun laws.

It's a choice—one that puts our lives at risk.

But Trump doesn't care about making America safe again. He's more focused
on pandering to the gun lobby, protecting his special interests, and
making sure the gun industry rakes in bigger profits.

We know there's a lot going on right now, but we can't give up or tune
this crisis out. We'll keep fighting for gun safety day in and day
out—because our lives depend on it.
