[link removed] [[link removed]] Here in Kansas, we’re no strangers to natural disasters. We’re located in the very heart of Tornado Alley. But last year, emergency sirens across Johnson County and the Kansas City area as a whole failed due to system overloads, weather damage, and human error.
That’s why Sharice Davids introduced the Weather Alert Response and Notification Act (WARN Act) earlier this month.
This bipartisan legislation will ensure every community receives clear, accurate, and timely warnings when disaster strikes by replacing inconsistent alarms and modernizing emergency alert systems — maximizing the time families have to prepare.
