Herbert,
Let’s be real: there’s a lot of scary stuff in the headlines lately about the current status of – and threats to – our American democracy. And while we’re throwing everything we’ve got into fighting back, we can’t forget about all the other critical issues that still deserve Congress’ attention.
For me, that includes common sense gun safety reform.
Earlier this month, I introduced legislation requiring gun stores to better secure their inventory after-hours. This will help crack down on smash-and-grab robberies, where stolen guns are often used in subsequent crimes.
The bill is nearly identical to bipartisan legislation passed at the county and state levels under my leadership. I was pleased to have the support of both law enforcement and gun safety groups then, just as I am now.
I could use your help reaching out to more grassroots organizations that can get this bill across the finish line. Will you contribute whatever you can today?
I appreciate your support as we work to keep stolen guns off our streets.
