This train wreck of a legislative session has a little more than two weeks to go.  There is still time to let Cheyenne know how you feel about bills like HB 172 Repeal of Gun Free Zones or SF0069 Homeowner Property Tax Exemption (although the barrage of proposed amendments - 49 and counting - make it nigh impossible to understand where how it will end up),
Meanwhile,  SF 40 Zoning Protest Petition Amendments will now be negotiated in a Joint Conference Committee due to a last minute amendment that would bar any town or city from imposing monetary fee, non-monetary condition or other concession on residential or commercial property related to the provision of workforce housing.

Officer Elections

The Teton County Central Committee will meet on Saturday, March 15, in the County Commissioners' Chambers at 200 S. Willow Street in Jackson. At this time, they will elect officers for the next  years.  We will be looking to fill three positions: Chair, Secretary and State Committeewoman.  If you are interested in filling one of these positions, please email us.  We are happy to answer any questions you might have.

Precinct Committee Officers are the only ones allowed to vote, however, if you would like to join us for some camaraderie and refreshments, we would love to see you!

1.  C is the correct answer.  SF 0096 Wyoming Gold Act requires the state treasurer to hold and invest at least $10 million in gold. The bill has passed in both chambers.

HB 0341 Summer Nutrition Assistance for Children would have contributed over $1 million of federal funds to WY for the purpose of providing healthy food to children who qualify for the free lunch program during the school year.  House Transportation and Appropriations committees both voted overwhelming in favor of HB0341 but it failed 25-34-3 in the Committee of the Whole.

Meanwhile, Medicaid Expansion was not considered in this year's session. In 2023, the estimated biennial cost to the State was $22 million but Wyoming would have received $177 million appropriation from the Federal government.

2. 45 bills were filed at the outset of the 2025 legislative session - approximately 8% of the total.  This despite the undeniable fact that there is virtually no evidence of voter fraud in Wyoming.
